Once you've completed a world and all of it's rooms, you will unlock it's trial form as well.

Trials are the same world over again, but made more difficult. The Shrooms may have more health, there maybe more mini bosses or even two bosses at the end of the run. By completing these trials, you receive gems and Spores. These Spores are then used to unlock new upgrades found in the Skill Tree.
